VISWA YUVA KENDRA is a professional voluntary organization in Odisha, founded on 15th August 1986. VYK has been serving in the field of livelihood promotion, community health and sanitation, child protection and development, education, women empowerment, youth promotion, natural resource management and community capacity building in the central and western part of the state.

Thrust Area

Viswa Yuva Kendra has been concentrating on the following activities prioritizing the requirement and need of the community. We also try to attend the need of the Donors and take up programs to satisfy the requirement of the target audience.

  • Livelihood Promotion and Natural Resource Management

  • Community Eye Health, adolescent health, HIV/AIDS and Nutrition

  • Livelihood Promotion and Natural Resource Management in 80 villages (75 Van Sarakshyan Samities)
  • Climate resilience agriculture and promotion of millet in tribal and hill areas
  • Agriculture and horticulture promotion, capacity building of farmers, marketing linkage
  • Extend services to destitute animals through Animal Help Line (Toll Free Number-1962)
  • Skill building and enhancing income among 200 tribal and backward women through small enterprise development (Bee Cultivation and dry land agriculture)
  • Promoting Child Participation and Child Protection through establishment of CHILDLINE (Toll Free Number-1098)
  • Digital learning for 200 children in through 12 community education centres Changing Lives Today For A Better Tomorrow
  • STAR SCHOOL programme for strengthening primary schools system and ensure quality education in 27 schools
  • Capacity Building of Panchayatiraj Institution Members
  • Sanitation and drinking water supply program in rural and tribal households.
  • Preparation of Micro plan and capacity building in 780 villages of Angul District under Jal Jeevan Mission

Geographical areas of operation

Viswa Yuva Kendra is founded in Angul district. It has expanded its works to western part of the state like Subarnapur, Sambalpur, Boudh and Deogarh districts through network with the existing NGOs working in respective districts.

Infrastructure

The organization has its own building with administrative office, conference hall, training facilities for 50 persons (lodging and boarding) and library facilities. It is established in 2.12 acres of land in Debarapali village under Kishorenagar block of Angul District.

The organization has a dedicated volunteer base and full time experienced staff working at its headquarters and its field offices.
