VISWA YUVA KENDRA is a professional voluntary organization in Odisha, founded on 15th August 1986. VYK has been serving in the field of Child Protection, Livelihood Promotion, Sustainable and Climate Resilient Agriculture Promotion, Community Health and Sanitation, Education, Women and Youth empowerment, in the central and western part of the state.

Contributing towards sustainable, resilient and gender equal transformation in the community and institutions through learning, collectivizing and accessing resources

Present Interventions

• Protection of children from Marriage, Sexual Abuse and Trafficking in 450 villages of Dhenkanal, Angul and Boudh districts
• Livelihood Promotion and Natural Resource Management in 150 Van Sarakshyan Samities of Angul district
• Climate resilience agriculture and promotion of millet in tribal and hill areas 500 villages of Boudh, Angul and Sundargarh districts.
• Animal Welfare Services to destitute animals through Animal Help Line (Toll Free Number-1962) in Angul and Talcher Municipality areas of Angul district and Moblile Veterinary Unit covering all blocks of Angul district
• Preparation of Micro plan and capacity building in 780 villages of Angul District under Jal Jeevan Mission
• Community Mental Health and Development Program with 500+ PWMIs (People With Mental Illness) in 125 villages of Angul district
• Disaster Preparedness Program in 200+ villages of Angul district
• Integrated Livelihood Promotion through SHG Based Micro Enterprise for 180 women under 6 villages in Angul district

Geographical areas of operation

Viswa Yuva Kendra is now working in Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Sundargarh, Subarnapur, and Sambalpur districts of Odisha. Covers 1000+ villages under 12 Community Development Blocks.

Infrastructure

The organization has its own building with administrative office, conference hall, training facilities for 50 persons (lodging and boarding) and library facilities. It is established in 2.12 acres of land in Debarapali village under Kishorenagar block of Angul District.

The organization has 85 (Female:35) full time staff working under different locations and at its headquarters.
